1. Controller and contact
Truck GPS is developed by alpgameplays. Contact: https://github.com/alpgameplays.
2. What the app does
The first version supports American Truck Simulator (ATS). The phone receives telemetry from the computer over the local network. Route calculation and recalculation use a server on the internet, on both the free plan and PRO.
3. Data on the phone and on the local network
The app stores preferences, acceptance of the terms, the device identity, the pairing credential and usage-right documents. The camera is used to read the pairing QR code; it is also possible to pair by typing the details. The QR image is not saved or sent to the route server. The position shown is that of the truck in the game, not the phone's GPS location.
4. Data sent to the server
To open the session and control access and quota, the API receives a device identifier, platform, app version and DLC information. To calculate routes, it receives the game, the truck's position and heading in the virtual world, the destination and the information needed for the request. The API records kilometer consumption and account and billing events. The communication also exposes the IP address to the service, which is used for request control.
The server stores users, linked devices, purchases, usage rights, route billing history and audit records. This data makes it possible to provide the service, verify subscriptions, control quota and investigate failures.
When you sign in with your account, the app also stores in it the trip history that the computer recorded: cargo, origin and destination, agreed and received payment, experience, distance, damage and deadline of each freight job, and each in-game charge — fine (with the reason), toll, ferry and train — with the amount, the game time, the truck's position on the game map and the virtual road, city and state where it happened. This is game-world data, not your real location. The career is identified by a code derived from the profile, never by the name you gave it. This data is used to show your history and your career statistics, and is included in the account export and deletion. Without an account, it stays only on the computer.
5. Sign-in and purchases
Google sign-in uses Firebase Authentication. The provider processes the authentication; the app receives account information for display and a token that the API verifies in order to link the device to the account identifier. The app does not ask for your Google password directly.
Purchases and subscriptions use Google Play and RevenueCat. Purchase identifiers, product, status and subscription periods are used to verify the PRO right. The email and name of the connected account are also sent to RevenueCat, only to locate your subscription when you ask for support. The API receives receipts and billing updates. Truck GPS does not receive your full card number. Purchases are also subject to the terms and policies of those providers.
6. Third parties and advertising
The app uses Unity, Firebase Authentication, Google Play, RevenueCat and Google AdMob.
In the free version, a banner is shown at the bottom of the map screen. It is served by Google AdMob, which may use the device's advertising identifier and app usage data to select and measure ads. Where the law requires it — today, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom — consent is requested through Google's own form before any ad is requested, and a refusal is respected: no ad is requested.
The PRO subscription removes the banner. With it, no ad is requested and the ads SDK is not even started.
Truck GPS does not send AdMob your account, your email or your position in the game, and does not use sign-in to send advertising.
6a. Diagnostics: crashes, performance and usage
The app uses three Firebase services to find problems that nobody reports — a GPS that closes on its own on the road does not become a complaint, it becomes an uninstall:
- Crashlytics — crash reports: device model, Android version, app version and the error's call stack. Along with it goes the state of the app at that moment: which game, whether the plan is FREE or PRO, whether there was a connection to the bridge, whether there was a route on screen, and the language;
- Performance Monitoring — startup time, smoothness of the map drawing and how long it takes to prepare the map package;
- Analytics — usage events without personal content: pairing completed, route calculated (with the distance rounded to kilometers) and route refused (with the reason).
None of this includes your account, your email, your position in the game or the freight destination. Collection starts only after you accept the terms on first launch; before that, nothing is sent.
7. Access, export and deletion
The Account screen lets you download the data held by the API. On Android, the file is saved to Downloads and may contain account and purchase information; share it only with whom you wish.
The same screen lets you request deletion of the account and cancel the request while it is available. The API reports the expected date, with a 30-day window. Deleting the account does not automatically cancel the subscription on Google Play: manage the subscription in the store itself.
Clearing the data or uninstalling removes the app's local data; it does not automatically delete the records held by the API or by the authentication and purchase providers. For questions, corrections or additional requests, use the contact in section 1.
